DFQ kicks of a new recurring jazz series at the historic LA landmark hotel: HOTEL NORMADIE 605 So. Normandie Ave @ 6th St., Los Angeles, CA 90005! The DFQ consists of Dale Fielder-baritone sax, the legendary ex-Mingus Workshop pianist Jane Getz, Bill Markus-bass, Thomas White-drums and vocalist Rita Edmond. The DFQ first garnered international attention back in 1996 with their first CD: “Dear Sir: Tribute To Wayne Shorter” which enjoyed the full support of Mr. Shorter and remained on the top ten jazz charts for over 3 months. Over the subsequent years, the DFQ has performed at concerts, festivals and venues throughout the U.S., Europe and Asia as well as recording six CDs as a unit. Their last two CDs “Baritone Sunride” and “DFQ Plays The Music of Pepper Adams” were both big sellers that attracted a lot of attention for the band. They are currently performing material from their 2016 2-disc 20th Anniversary CD: "RESILIENCE!"
