The L.A. Jazz Society is excited to join with the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA) in presenting its 9th annual L.A. Jazz Treasure Award to Argentine born pianist, composer, arranger and conductor, Lalo Schifrin, on Friday September 8th at the museum, located at 5905 Wilshire Blvd.

Schifrin received the conductor/arranger award from the Jazz Society in 1994. A classically trained musician, he is probably best known for his large body of film and TV scores, including the theme from Mission Impossible, which has been inducted into the GRAMMY Hall of Fame.

Schifrin is also noted for his work with Clint Eastwood, particularly in the Dirty Harry films. He has won four Grammy Awards (with 21 nominations), one ACE Cable Award, one Emmy Award and six Academy Award nominations. ...
